The Maldives - crystal blue sea

We found it hard to believe the picture-perfect waters that you see in all the travel magazines actually exist. Spending lazy days snorkelling amongst the coral and the huge variety of marine life was magical. Ashley tried his hand at diving, loved it and kept going back. Highlights included swimming with whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, reef sharks and Maldivian clown fish. Staying overnight on the deserted island (pictured below), sleeping on the sand under the stars was just the most amazing experience. It will be interesting to see in a few months time whether the seas around Indonesia can top the beauty of the Maldives.
