Jodhpur - Lotus Guest House

We sat eating a late breakfast this morning on the roof terrace of the guest house after arriving on the sleeper train from Delhi, and this was view....

The top two photos are of the Mehrangarh Fort, which are are about to go and visit. The bottom photo is of the Umaid Bhawan Palace in the distance that the royal family still own and visit. It is also one of the most expensive hotels in the world.

Our room is rather basic by comparison but clean and comfortable. With air conditioning, a private bathroom and the thickest mattress so far who can complain? Particularly for £12 per night!
